Korean-American Next Generation Engages in Korean Culture Through Kimchi-Making Experience
Korean Soul Food/Both Foundation Kimchi-Making Event, dedicated to fostering community bonds and introducing Korean culture to the next generation, was successfully held on Saturday, December 14, from 10 AM to 5 PM at Friendship Park (formerly Smith Murphy Park) in Buena Park.

The event brought together 60 high school students (grades 9–12) to prepare 1,000 heads of kimchi. This annual kimchi-making event aims to revive the traditional Korean practice of "Kimjang" (kimchi preparation) and offer the next generation a hands-on opportunity to engage with this unique aspect of Korean culture. Additionally, the event highlights the global significance of kimchi as part of Korea's culinary heritage.

The kimchi prepared during the event will be distributed to 500 individuals in need, including underserved community members and elderly residents living alone, as part of the "One Cabbage, One Act of Love" initiative.

As part of the event, Both Foundation also awarded $6,000 in scholarships to eight children from single-parent households and underserved families, further emphasizing the foundation's commitment to supporting the community.
