Novelist Han Kang (54) has made history by becoming the first Korean and the first Asian woman to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature. The award was presented on December 10 (local time) at Stockholm’s iconic Concert Hall in Sweden, elevating her to the ranks of the world's greatest literary figures.
Han attended the 2024 Nobel Prize Award Ceremony and received the Nobel medal and diploma from King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden. This marks the first time a Korean has graced the symbolic "Blue Carpet" of the Nobel Prize ceremony.
