▶ Experience Korean culture for $10
The BOTH Foundation (Chairperson Carol Lee) will host the 3rd Annual Kimchi-Making Event on Saturday, the 14th, at Smith-Murphy Park in Buena Park. This event is organized and sponsored by Korean Soul Foods USA and supported by Three Sisters Kimchi.
The BOTH Foundation stated that the event will offer a unique opportunity for the Korean American and mainstream communities, as well as the next generation of Korean Americans, to experience the traditional Korean kimchi-making culture together.
The opening ceremony will begin at 10:00 AM and will include congratulatory speeches by distinguished guests, followed by the presentation of scholarships to 12 high school juniors and seniors. From 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, participants will engage in a large-scale kimchi-making event using a total of 1,000 napa cabbages. The freshly made kimchi will be distributed to 500 underserved residents and seniors living alone. Carol Lee, Chairperson of the BOTH Foundation, expressed her hopes, saying, “We warmly invite everyone to join us in this meaningful event of love and compassion.”
Participation in the event costs $10, and supporters can sponsor by donating napa cabbages. Donations range from $250 for 10 boxes of cabbages, $500 for 20 boxes, to $1,000 for 40 boxes. Contributions are tax-deductible, and donations can be made via credit card, Zelle, or check.
