미 전역에 유통된 총 49개 브랜드의 제습기가 리콜 됐다.제습기를 제조, 판매해온 현대와 대우 등 총 49개 업체는 2003년 1월부터 2013년 12월까지 판매한 자사 제품들을 전면 리콜 했다.

제조업체들은 최근 그동안 제습기 과열로 인한 연기 및 화재사고가 38건 보고되면서 로우스(Lowes), 머나즈(Menards), 피시 리차드앤손(PC Richard&Son) 등을 통해 판매한 25, 30, 40, 50, 60, 65, 70, 75 파인트 용량의 제습기를 모두 리콜 한다고 밝혔다.

리콜 업체는 Airworks, Alen, Arctic King, Arcticaire, Beaumark, Comfort Star, ComfortAire, Continental Electric, Coolworks, Crosley, Daewoo, Danby, Danby Designer, Dayton, Degree, Diplomat, Edgestar, Excell, Fellini, Forest Air, Frigidaire, GE, Grunaire, Hanover, Homestyles, Honeywell, Hyundai, Ideal Air, Kenmore, Keystone, Kul, Midea, Nantucket, Ocean Breeze, Pelonis, Perfect Aire, Perfect Home, Polar Wind, Premiere, Professional Series, Royal Sovereign, Simplicity, SPT, Sunbeam, Sylvania, TGM, Touch Point, Trutemp, Uberhaus, Westpointe, Winix, Winixl이다.
