미국섬유조약이행위원회(CITA)는 5일 섬유산업계가 접수한 13개 중국산 섬유 및 의류 품목에 대한 세이프가드 청원을 모두 승낙한다고 발표했다.

따라서 CITA는 향후 30일간(근무일수 기준) 업계로부터 공중의견(Public Comments)을 접수하는 등의 조사작업에 돌입한다.이번 세이프가드 청원에 대한 승낙은 올해 12월 31일까지 이미 세이프가드가 발동되어(수입제한물량을 초과해) 수입금지가 내려진 품목에 대한 재청원도 포함되어 있다.이들 13개 품목은 다음과 같다.

- Combed cotton yarn (카테고리 301)
- Cotton knit shirts (카테고리 338/339)
- Men’s and boys’ woven shirts (카테고리 340/640)
- Cotton trousers (카테고리 347/348)
- Brassieres and other body supporting garments (카테고리 349/649)
- Underwear (카테고리 352/652)
- Other synthetic filament fabric (카테고리 620)
- Man-made fiber knit shirts (카테고리 638/639)
- Man-made fiber trousers (카테고리 647/648)
- Cheesecloth, batistes, lawns/voiles (카테고리 226)
- Men’s and boys’ wool suits (카테고리 443)
- Polyester filament fabric, light-weight (카테고리 619)
- Other men’s and boys’ man-made fiber coats and women’s and girls’ man-made
