52nd Korean Parade: “Beyond Boundaries, Toward a New Leap Forward”
The LA Korean Festival, the largest celebration of the Korean-American community, will reach its highlight with the 52nd Korean Parade, set to illuminate the heart of LA’s Koreatown along Olympic Boulevard from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, October 18. Organized by the Korea Times Los Angeles headquarters, a leading media outlet in the Korean community, the 52nd Korean Parade marks the 122nd anniversary of Korean immigration to the U.S.

It symbolizes community unity and serves as a pledge for a renewed leap forward for the Korean-American community under the theme “Beyond Boundaries, Toward a New Leap Forward.” The Korean Parade, which began in 1974 during the early formation of the Korean immigrant community, stands as the longest-standing and most traditional event in Korean-American history. Spanning over half a century, it has symbolized the unity and progress of Koreans, showcased the community’s stature and the excellence of Korean culture to mainstream society and other ethnic groups, and established itself as the premier event symbolizing U.S.-Korea friendship.

The 52nd Korean Parade, part of the LA Korean Festival, aims to deliver a message of true harmony by transcending cultural, generational, and regional boundaries, fostering understanding and unity. It will unfold as a grand festival symbolizing harmony, exchange, and mutual prosperity between the Southern California Korean community, mainstream society, and multicultural communities. To this end, prominent political leaders and figures representing both the Korean and mainstream communities, along with various organizations, agencies, and corporations, will participate in the procession, pledging future-oriented collaboration and harmony among multicultural communities.

Notably, next-generation youth groups from the Korean community will join in large numbers, presenting a parade filled with dreams and hope. The event will feature a diverse array of participants, including traditional Korean pungmul bands, dance troupes, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) marching band, taekwondo demonstration teams, and Marine Corps processions, offering a richer spectacle than ever before to represent the multicultural community. Marking the 122nd anniversary of Korean immigration, this year’s Korean Parade declares a bold step toward a hopeful future, built on the community’s history of hardship and achievements. We earnestly request the continued interest and support of the Korean community for this event.
