H Mart, the largest Asian supermarket chain in the U.S., announced on August 13 a partnership with NationsBenefits, a leading fintech solutions provider in healthcare and wellness, to expand the use of the NationsBenefits Flex Card across all H Mart locations. Through this partnership, eligible H Mart customers enrolled in participating health insurance plans can now use the Flex Card at any H Mart store to purchase fresh produce, specialty ingredients, over-the-counter medications, and wellness products at no cost.
Powered by NationsBenefits’ real-time Basket Approval Service (BAS), customers can seamlessly use these additional free benefits at the checkout to buy familiar groceries. The Flex Card is a complimentary benefit provided by insurance companies, allowing members to flexibly purchase food, vitamins, and medical services, with monthly or quarterly allowances that can reach hundreds of dollars. H Mart and NationsBenefits anticipate that this partnership will particularly benefit low-income and senior Korean-American customers, providing them with greater access to H Mart’s diverse range of products.
Members of participating health insurance plans can use their card for over-the-counter medications and groceries if the card features the “NationsBenefits” logo on the back.H Mart President Brian Kwon stated, “At H Mart, we believe that ‘culture begins at the dining table.’ We aim to support our customers in maintaining their health while preserving their identity and traditions.
