Schools under the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), the second-largest school district in the nation, resumed classes on January 6th following the winter break. Approximately 500,000 elementary, middle, and high school students across LA returned to campus to begin the spring semester.
Authorities and district officials urged caution regarding traffic congestion and safety concerns during drop-off and pick-up hours around school zones.
On the first day of the new semester, the entrance of Wilton Place Elementary School in LA’s Koreatown buzzed with activity as students and parents gathered to start the school year.
